Toys for Tots: What the Toys do.

Every Year Lexus loves to collect toys for the Toys for Tots Foundation! The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and Dec

ember each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

Now that you know a little background on the Toys for Tots charity, swing by our dealership and donate a toy to those children in need, and give a little joy this Christmas!

Lexus F Performance team Expected to start racing in February 2016

The newly announced F Performance team expects to test its new Lexus RC F race car by February, according to a new Racer interview with lead driver Scott Pruett:

“We’re on schedule, [team leader Paul] Gentilozzi has the first car, it’s taken all apart, and we’re preparing for the new season,” Pruett told RACER. “We’re working very close with Lexus of Japan, working very close with their designers, and on the implementation of new pieces being designed for the car that raced in 2015 in Japan.

“Japan is also flat-out designing a car for, I believe, 2017, and we’re aiming to be out with our car by the end of February.”

“Everyone in the United States can’t wait to go racing, to activate the promotions, and to show the commitment to motorsports. The RC F will be racing this year, and when it does, we expect to do well.”

The F Performance team will compete in some IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship events in 2016, though it won’t be ready for the opening races in Daytona or Sebring. A second driver for the team has yet to be selected.

Winter Weather Driving Tips

The best thing to do when the roads are icy or snow covered is to avoid driving if possible. However, there are times that we cannot avoid getting out on the roads. In times like this there a few things to consider that might help keep you safe.

First: Be sure to leave in plenty of time so that you can keep your speeds low. Driving slow will not only help you control your vehicle it will also help stopping.

Second: Brake gently to avoid sliding, and if you start to lose traction and slide let off the brake.
Third: Fully remove ice and snow from the windshield and lights. This will give you the best chance of seeing any obstacles and allow others to see you.

Finally: Don’t assume your vehicle is able to handle any road condition. Even if you made a great decision by purchasing one of the safest vehicles made there are conditions that are not suitable for any vehicle. Never pass a snowplow and do not drive through snow banks.

The Lexus RX Redesigned

A freshly re-designed exterior to accompany its fresh new features. With a multitude of luxurious options and accessories to choose from, the 2015 Lexus RX definitely does not disappoint. Whether you need to entertain the kids on a long drive with a rear-entertainment system, or you crave an exterior that is just as edgy as you, the RX has what you need to define luxury. Different models like the F Sport and the Hybrid make your experience everything go above and beyond with every mile.

The RX Hybrid is the first hybrid vehicle to feature Intelligent Shift Control, a system that can estimate whether you are traveling uphill or downhill and automatically provide the optimal engine response, or you can manually shift for greater responsiveness and maneuverability. The power opening and closing rear door offers easy access to the rear storage area. The rear door can be raised and lowered from inside the vehicle by using a switch or remotely with the SmartAccess fob. The available dual-screen Rear-Seat Entertainment System enables two video sources to be viewed at the same time. Using a single remote control, one can be used, for instance, as a DVD player and the other as a game console or audio player. Wireless headphones are also graciously included, leaving the driver free to enjoy something entirely different: silence.

In addition to remote features and relaxing accessories, the RX is designed to know its driver. Available heated and ventilated front seats can be personalized using three separate settings each for heating and cooling, and the available Lexus Memory System automatically adjusts the power driver’s seat (except lumbar), the outside mirrors and the steering wheel to your personal settings. It's hard to believe so much luxury can come in such a dynamic package. The Lexus RX prides itself on not only impressing you, but all other drivers on the road.
