LEXUS LS 400 VS. AUDI A8 - IT MIGHT SURPRISE YOU!

Almost 2 decades ago Lexus' flagship model, the LS400, was released as Toyota's new Champion Vehicle. After a review of its performance, any early dismissal of the brand was soon silenced. Though the Lexus brand's roots are not in years of experienced racing, Lexus vehicles run better and cost less then it's competitors, like Audi.

Today, we are going to do a brief evaluation of the Lexus LS460 compared to Audi A8. After an initial look, it's clear that both cars perform well, but the interior and ride quality of the Audi, in particular, does not live up to the grandeur the performance promises. Both cars have quite the sticker price. The A8 starts at $72,900, and the LS460 begins at $71,000. But, for the price, it's been said that no other luxury car offers more for your money than the Lexus LS460.

In summation, the Audi A8 is a good ride, but it compromises some luxury for performance. On the other hand, for a high-achiever (or should we say over-achiever) in capability, luxury, engineering, reliability, and value the Lexus LS460 is at the forefront of the market. There is no doubt; this vehicle was designed to conquer and there is no doubt, it does.

Lexus Once Again Leads Auto Brands in Perceived Quality

With a long-held reputation for superior vehicle quality, it may come as no surprise that Lexus was once again at the top of ALG’s recent Perceived Quality Study (PQS). However, the Spring 2012 PQS indicates that the luxury automaker is actually increasing its perception lead over competitors as it revamps its offerings at Lexus dealers.

Based off of surveys of more than 3,000 U.S. consumers, the semi-annual PQS rates the perceived quality of each auto brand on a scale of zero to 100. Lexus received a score of 85.4 in the Spring 2012 report, which was an improvement of 2.4 points from last spring’s report and enough to again top all auto brands in the study. The luxury make also increased its lead over its closest luxury competitor, Mercedes-Benz, by 2.2 points compared to the Spring 2011 PQS.

It is very impressive that Lexus is seeing a spike in perceived quality even as it introduces more daring designs across its lineup. The new 2013 GS 350 is great example of that - sales have completely exceeded our expectations. Customers love the new technology and it continues to bring in new customers that have never sat in the driver's seat of a Lexus.

Lexus is in the process of coming out with nine new or redesigned models, and the next car to take on its sportier family style will be the all-new 2013 Lexus ES coming in mid-August. Wearing the brand’s new signature spindle grille, the 2013 ES sedan receives a lower profile and sleeker design lines aimed at attracting younger buyers. Meanwhile, suspension revisions and a quicker steering-gear ratio allow for improved straight-line stability and ride comfort, as well as more responsive handling.

For its more eco-conscious buyers, Lexus will also be offering a hybrid ES for the first time. The 2013 Lexus ES 300h will feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated with two electric motors and a nickel-metal hydride battery to net a manufacturer-estimated 40 mpg in the city. Along with the strictly gas-powered 2013 ES 350, the ES 300h will let drivers tailor their ride between higher performance and better fuel efficiency with a Drive Mode selector.

Even with a new generation on the way, the current Lexus ES continues to be a popular item in the showroom. As Lexus’ best-selling car, the ES moved 2,937 units in the United States in May, a 22-percent increase compared to the same month last year. Still, it was sales of the new 2013 Lexus GS that saw the most impressive boost, rising 552 percent last month compared to May 2011.

We are very excited for the future!

Lexus College Graduate Finance Program Can Turn Recent Graduates’ Lexus Dreams Into Reality

If you’re a recent college graduate and luxury vehicle-lover, you may already be dreaming about buying your first Lexus. Those dreams may seem distant, even if you already have a good job and are on the road to a successful career. The College Graduate Finance Program is built to help recent college graduates purchase their first new or Certified Pre-Owned Lexus vehicle. GOOGLE ADS OUR LEXUS RX450H TO FLEET

The Google self-driving-vehicle fleet has grown by one. According to Wired, the tech giant has added a black Lexus RX450h to its autonomous stable. The hybrid SUV was spotted out on the road for testing wearing a new roof-mounted sensor array that's significantly more streamlined than the gear found on the company's autonomous Toyota Prius models. Google says it is constantly testing its driving algorithms on a wide range of vehicles in order to refine the technology, and that the RX450h is merely the latest step in that process.

Google first began unleashing its driverless cars onto public streets in 2010 using a fleet comprised of six Prius hybrids and one Audi TT. The company's work has spurred the California legislature to draft a bill requiring the California Highway Patrol to outline safety standards for autonomous vehicles. Wired reports the legislation passed the state's Senate Transportation Committee with an 8-0 vote and is now headed to the Senate Rules Committee. Nevada has already passed a similar law.

So, if you see an RX tooling down the streets of Kansas City soon with no driver - don't be alarmed - it's just Google, being fancy again:)

JUST FOR THE GUYS - THE DREAM GARAGE

You LOVE your car and your space. The kitchen may be the woman's domain - but the garage...that's ALL about YOU (that said, I LOVE these and like to keep my garage sparkling clean and yes, I am a woman.) So sit back, grab a cold brew, a good scotch or whatever suits your fancy - and take a look at these AWESOME spaces.

For all of you Harley lovers out there! Your baby needs a space too, right? See the "Red Button"? This mystery button is a favorite of every visitor. When you push the button, a flashing yellow industrial warning light and "awnk - awnk" warning sound draws your attention to mid ceiling above. You observe a large 2 ft. by 10 ft. panel with the far end rotating down from the darkness of the flat black ceiling. The panel rotates to about 65 degrees and stops. Then the bottom of an extension ladder lowers until it touches the floor and everything stops. Your access to the attic above the 13 ft ceiling is now conveniently available. Simply push the red button again and the whole process repeats in reverse until the large panel is again flush with the ceiling. Everyone seems to find this automation very entertaining and so convenient.

Love ART DECO? Red, silver, and white are the dominant colors of this garage. The lighting facades over the pumps simulate service station awnings of the same time period, while the lighting, workbench, wainscoting, and door panels are purely high tech in appearance.

The designer paid very close attention to detail and to his customer's background and taste. For example, whenever possible, automotive finishes are used, and the white paint on the hanging facades in not just any white, but GM Alpine White, first used on Cadillacs of the late 1950's.

You can't miss the use of aircraft safety switches for lighting controls at the workbench. This was a surprise for the client based on his background as an US Air Force pilot.

The large red panels seen in this image are actually rolling doors. How cool is that!

A beautiful garage environment with a big "Wow Factor" without a big "Oh my God" price. Use combinations of metallic paints, automotive finishes, and unique metallic epoxy flooring, to create this gorgeous space! You could do this in a weekend!

Of course, this is my favorite - How sweet would your LX 570 look in this baby? The "Zen" garage, is in Paradise Valley, AZ and is a custom design using an Asian theme with some elements of Frank Lloyd Wright styling. After careful study of the existing home, the designer knew he could use some elements to produce a stunning and tranquil garage space of organic colors, natural metallics, sounds of falling water and blend them with high tech lighting, surfaces, and audio visual enhancements.

For example, sparkling rain glass complements the water walls and is also used in the home interior. The  metallic Bronze epoxy flooring produces a fascinating liquid metal appearance, and the deep crystal clear finish makes the color coats look as though they are under glass. The green-gold metallic tone of the Valspar Brilliant Metallics paint is a perfect blend with the gold and bronze wainscoting. This material is a shimmering metallic rubber product over a geometric pattern of truncated pyramids. This durable surface prevents damage to the wall and the car door. Colors, textures, and patterns, again, are limitless.

The old garage doors were hand painted in a copper/bronze patina that incorporated some of the wall color.  Vertical door tracks, lift motors, power outlets, etc., are concealed behind decorative columns. When the door is in the up position, it is hidden behind a decorative cover that suspends from the ceiling. An added benefit is that when the door is in the up position it does not block the lighting. In this system, the lighting is placed on the bottom side of the cover. LOVE.IT. And it can be yours for a mere $125,000.

LOVE Las Vegas? Check this out! This is an old machine tool factory building that had been converted to a residence. It has a beautiful modern 8,000 loft on the second floor above this 5,000 sq. ft. garage. It was decided to give him a trip to Vegas every time he comes home, by creating a Las Vegas Strip themed garage.

There are several themed areas of interest. There is a circular full gar, a private casino, and a Venetian alcove, all in an environment of Vegas bling!

ATTENTION SPORTS FANS! This space makes you want to tailgate in your GARAGE! Some of the interesting attributes of the environment are the acrylic covered walls, the over-sized tread plate wainscoting, life size graphic images, custom LED lighting, custom covers for what were windows, and much more. SCORE!
