LF-LC Concept Reveal

Lexus debuted the LF-FC fuel cell concept earlier this week at the Tokyo Motor Show, and we were stunned at first glance! The elongated front end makes a bold statement that works seamlessly with this bold luxury concept. The massive spindle grille pushing every other element to the very edge, the triple-L headlights embedded in a steep angle make this concept worth talking about. The side profile is set with bold, confident character lines that pinch in at the rear doors. This is flagship design at its core, with a silhouette that marks a dramatic departure from the current LS line.Straight on, the rear is dominated by taillights that start near the trunk logo and expand outward in every direction. The large mesh areas on the outer edges suggest the LFA to some degree, but the LF-FC might have been better served with an updated version of the LF-LC “afterburner” taillight design.

We can't help but rave over this bold Lexus concept! What do you think?

Lexus LF SA Concept

Lexus is all about innovation, and the Lexus LF SA is about as innovative as they come. At first glance, one can’t help but notice the bold and cutting-edge exterior that is completely reflective of everything it will have to offer. Reflecting the spirit of weekend adventure in everyday city driving, the LF SA concept explores a future in which Lexus drivers will still be able to enjoy the real life luxury of driving themselves, still enjoying the ultimate in on-board connectivity and safety. Engineers managed to make the exterior of the concept vehicle 135.8 inches long and 66.9 inches wide, alluding to the maneuverability and agility of a true city car. Despite its highly compact exterior dimensions, the concept boasts a surprisingly spacious interior. The information system includes a hologram style display. Be on the lookout for this gem in the future (and maybe in your driveway!)

Future Vision of Lexus

The Lexus USA international dealer's meeting just took place in Los Angeles in addition to celebrating their 25th birthday! The blog, Toyota's Drivers Seat, posted a recap on the meeting and stated the following:

"There were enticing previews of commercials for the RC and NX, coming to Lexus showrooms within the next two months. There was Akio Toyoda inspiring the crowd with his passionate message. There were plenty of light-hearted moments. But the overall message was clear: Be proud of what Lexus has done in the last 25 years, push to make the next 25 years even better."

In the meeting, Akio Toyoda highlighted the fact that instead of an anniversary, he considered this a "rebirth" of the company. Toyoda stated he saw this anniversary as an opportunity to say, "'Ok, now what?’ Or perhaps more importantly, ‘What if?’ What if we really go after the competition? What if we exceed every customer expectation and then some?"

In addition to Toyoda's heartfelt speech, he congratulated dealers on their sales of 4.8 million vehicles over the last 25 years. After Toyoda, Peggy Turner (VP of customer service) took the stage and turned the conversation to the new face of the customer. Turner highlighted that, "Women, diverse markets and young drivers" will be next to share in the Lexus vision. The meeting closed with a statement by Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager Jeff Bracken, who stated “We’re not just making and selling cars. What Lexus has done over the last 25 years, what we will do over the next 25, is going to be reflected in the world our children and our children’s children inherit. And we intend to leave a legacy that leads to a better world.” Keep an eye out for Lexus to diversify their reach in the luxury market, and keep your expectations high.
