Toys for Tots: What the Toys do.

Every Year Lexus loves to collect toys for the Toys for Tots Foundation! The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and Dec

ember each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

Now that you know a little background on the Toys for Tots charity, swing by our dealership and donate a toy to those children in need, and give a little joy this Christmas!

Lexus F Performance team Expected to start racing in February 2016

The newly announced F Performance team expects to test its new Lexus RC F race car by February, according to a new Racer interview with lead driver Scott Pruett:

“We’re on schedule, [team leader Paul] Gentilozzi has the first car, it’s taken all apart, and we’re preparing for the new season,” Pruett told RACER. “We’re working very close with Lexus of Japan, working very close with their designers, and on the implementation of new pieces being designed for the car that raced in 2015 in Japan.

“Japan is also flat-out designing a car for, I believe, 2017, and we’re aiming to be out with our car by the end of February.”

“Everyone in the United States can’t wait to go racing, to activate the promotions, and to show the commitment to motorsports. The RC F will be racing this year, and when it does, we expect to do well.”

The F Performance team will compete in some IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship events in 2016, though it won’t be ready for the opening races in Daytona or Sebring. A second driver for the team has yet to be selected.

Winter Weather Driving Tips

The best thing to do when the roads are icy or snow covered is to avoid driving if possible. However, there are times that we cannot avoid getting out on the roads. In times like this there a few things to consider that might help keep you safe.

First: Be sure to leave in plenty of time so that you can keep your speeds low. Driving slow will not only help you control your vehicle it will also help stopping.

Second: Brake gently to avoid sliding, and if you start to lose traction and slide let off the brake.
Third: Fully remove ice and snow from the windshield and lights. This will give you the best chance of seeing any obstacles and allow others to see you.

Finally: Don’t assume your vehicle is able to handle any road condition. Even if you made a great decision by purchasing one of the safest vehicles made there are conditions that are not suitable for any vehicle. Never pass a snowplow and do not drive through snow banks.

Some other people, however, have some incredibly creative costume garb that puts the rest of us to shame! Here are some fun and crazy-awesome costume ideas we liked the best!

Lego Man- Who doesn't love this childhood memory of ours?

Green army man- Another childhood memory brought to life through some creative minds during Halloween!

Mousetrap- A creative parent crafted this life-sized mouse trap and we are in love!

Darla- This oh-so-somewhat lovable character from Finding Nemo is easy to re-create and reminds of us our dear love for Disney.

The Coperstone Baby- What a lovable icon and an adorable idea!

Snowglobe- The award for most creative costume idea goes to her! Who knew visiting Hawaii would be so easy?

LF-LC Concept Reveal

Lexus debuted the LF-FC fuel cell concept earlier this week at the Tokyo Motor Show, and we were stunned at first glance! The elongated front end makes a bold statement that works seamlessly with this bold luxury concept. The massive spindle grille pushing every other element to the very edge, the triple-L headlights embedded in a steep angle make this concept worth talking about. The side profile is set with bold, confident character lines that pinch in at the rear doors. This is flagship design at its core, with a silhouette that marks a dramatic departure from the current LS line.Straight on, the rear is dominated by taillights that start near the trunk logo and expand outward in every direction. The large mesh areas on the outer edges suggest the LFA to some degree, but the LF-FC might have been better served with an updated version of the LF-LC “afterburner” taillight design.

We can't help but rave over this bold Lexus concept! What do you think?

Lexus UK Builds an Origami Car from Cardboard

15-10-05-lexus-origami-car-hero.jpg

What an interesting sight it is, and shockingly beautiful as well! Lexus UK has managed to accurately construct a Lexus IS using ONLY cardboard. It is easy to tell from the picture how much detail clearly went into crafting such a magnificent replica of this one-of-a-kind luxury vehicle. Each cardboard panel had to be individually laser cut and then assembled with glue- and the interior is fully articulated. The entire vehicle took a grand total of three months to build and the attention to detail is absolutely incredible. The cardboard IS was built by Scales and Models, a company from London that builds prototypes. The company stated:

"Each layer was given its own reference number to help ensure it was assembled in the right sequence and the entire assembly was done by hand. A water-based wood glue was used, which had to be left to set for 10 minutes after each application. Accuracy was vital, as changes couldn’t be made once the glue had dried."

Powered by a 2.0 Liter petrol turbo engine with D-4ST fuel injection and the eight-speed transmission from the RC F, the IS 200t sports sedan 245 hp with 258 lb. ft. of torque. In other words, this vehicle can do some pretty awesome things. Unfortunately, we may not all get to see this beauty in person, but we can only imagine the jaw-dropping effect this gem has in person.

Should a LX F be in Our Future?

Do you think that Lexus should make a high-performance version of the LX 570? Photochopper X-Tomi believes so, and has rendered an Ultrasonic Blue LX F to prove his point.

The idea of an LX F is an appealing one — replace the slatted grille with the F-pattern mesh, add some fender vents, drop in the 450 horsepower supercharged 5.7L V8 engine from the limited edition LX offered in the Middle East, and DONE.

And yet, here’s the thing — the new LX 570’s design is already turned all the way up. Some subtle adjustments like the recently announced Modellista kit may work out, but the changes needed to make an LX F would push this design right over the edge. Better to skip the exterior modifications and just offer a supercharged LX as an option in North America (although, we would love to sport this ultrasonic blue LX around town, wouldn't you?).

Spain's Blackout Lexus CT

Lexus Spain has introduced the Blackout edition of the Lexus CT 200h Sport. The new edition has blacked-out roof, grille and wheels, which add to the edgy boldness of the already dramatic CT Sport. With a peppery-red and deep black accents, the sport-luxury compact stands out in all of the right ways. A smooth red complements the thick, hand-waxed exterior and makes the driver feel the thrill of a Spanish-inspired design. We can't help but want to take these red-hot wheels for a spin around Barcelona and explore Spain in the right way- in absolute luxury.

The Lexus Hoverboard

Have you heard the hype about the hoverboard? Lexus recently introduced its bind-boggling hoverboard, and here is the recent press release:

Since the Lexus Hoverboard was unveiled in June, testing has been carried out in a specially constructed hoverpark, combining elements from skate culture with technology within its architecture. Up to 200 meters of magnetic track was transported to Barcelona from the Dresden facility to lay beneath the hoverpark surface in order to create the dynamic test, offering Lexus the opportunity to demonstrate tricks no skateboard could ever perform, like traveling across water. Lexus has captured the final ride footage and released it as a film led by award winning director Henry-Alex Rubin.
The Lexus Hoverboard technology features two “cryostats”—reservoirs in which superconducting material is kept at -197 degrees through immersion in liquid nitrogen. The board is then placed above a track that contains permanent magnets. Dr. Oliver de Haas, evico CEO, said: “The magnetic field from the track is effectively ‘frozen’ into the superconductors in the board, maintaining the distance between the board and the track—essentially keeping the board hovering. This force is strong enough to allow the rider to stand and even jump on the board.”

We want to test it out! How about you?
