Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts
When: Feb. 17 to 26
Where: 1601 Broadway
What: The Kansas City Ballet performs “Romeo & Juliet” by Sergei Prokofiev. The work, based on William Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy, has been an audience favorite since it was first performed in 1940 by the Kirov Ballet in Leningrad. The Kansas City Ballet’s performance will be choreographed by Ib Andersen, whose work is often rooted in the classicism of George Balanchine and Michel Fokine. Tickets start at $19.

La Bodega
When: Feb. 14

What: Valentine’s event that includes a four-course dinner or all-you-can-eat tapas. The first seatings are from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and cost $35 per person. The second seatings are from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and cost $55 per person. You can also add a bottle of Torres Garnacha for $20 per table.
